“I am blessed with the privilege of seeing patients knowing that they are all made in the Image of God.”
Dr. Cary Ward grew up in Dallas–Fort Worth and attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, where he met the love of his life, Jolene, on a blind date.
Jolene was from Lincoln, Nebraska, and in 1991 they moved to Nebraska, where he began practicing Internal Medicine and Hospital Medicine. Over the next several decades, he served as Chief Medical Officer and later as President of CHI Health’s Nebraska and Iowa region.
After a career in medicine and health care leadership, Dr. Ward is grateful to return to what he has always loved most—caring for patients and practicing medicine.
Cary and Jolene have three adult children. Outside of medicine, Cary enjoys playing piano in a band and serving as a part-time musician at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. He also has a lifelong passion for aviation. He recently recertified as an FAA Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) and provides FAA Class II and Class III Aviation Medical Examinations.
“I am so blessed to be part of Sancta Familia! I deeply value being part of a medical apostolate that is holistic and rooted in faith, allowing us to care for our patients as whole persons. One of my greatest joys in family practice is meeting newborns as young as two days old and watching them grow alongside their families within such close, lasting relationships. It is a true gift to care for the whole family across every stage of life.”
“Amberly earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Creighton University in 2016. She also holds her Bachelors (2004) and Masters (2011) in Nursing from Clarkson College. She is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Amberly strives to provide holistic care to all patients across the lifespan and is very excited and proud to serve at SFMA. She is married to Casey and they have 7 children.”
“Seek God’s will in all that you do, and He will direct your path” Proverbs 3:6
I have been working in the health care field for over 10 years. It has been an honor to work at Sancta Familia as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past year and incorporate my faith and God’s guidance into my profession. I find such joy in listening to each patient’s story, concerns, and goals. I strive to make each patient feel comfortable and get to the root cause of their healthcare concerns.
My husband, Cody, and I have two young daughters who keep us busy! In my off time I enjoy spending time outside with my girls, baking, and traveling around the area. Being apart of the SFMA family is such a gift!
“My wife, Deanna, and I have been married for over 32 years and have five wonderful children. I am so grateful that I am able to practice medicine and treat my patients in accordance with my Catholic faith!

I am so glad to be a part of the Sancta Familia family. I have been working in medicine for over a decade, and I am honored to work in a place that allows me to provide high quality, holistic, and comprehensive care to our community members.
I have a passion for helping others, so that they may thrive and feel their best! I love meeting new patients, whether it’s couples who want to discuss fertility, men or woman needing that extra special attention to their hormone and health management, or an elder adult wanting to feel seen and heard by a medical professional. They all deserve top notch healthcare!
I have been so blessed to be able to grow my family while working at SFMA as they truly value the sanctity of family and children! I am happy to be in an environment where I can be a healthcare professional and mother!
In my spare time, I like to spend time outside walking, or gardening. I enjoy all things about Christmas, and you’ll likely find me enjoying some Christmas themed movies in the middle of summer!
